One must note that these fans were not locals but visitors and consisted majority people from Mizoram who had come to the stadium just to see their team play.
Their gesture, fortunately, didn’t go unnoticed and Meghalaya’s former deputy chief minister RG Lyngdoh sent out his vote of thanks to them.
Soon Shillong-based retired IAS officer Toki Blah too added his appreciation and said,
“Please allow me to join in commending the civic spirited fans of Aizawl FC. Thank you for cleaning. Future of Mizoram lies in safe hands.”
The gesture soon went viral on Twitter with many taking up the mico-blogging site to acknowledge the fans’ effort and “Salute!” it.
Hats off Aizawl FC Fans, you are truly and inspiration to many sports farns around the world.
