Anyone who has travelled via an aeroplane has often wondered how does the plane get rid of the “human waste” that has been left by the people who use flight lavatories.
While there is a whole lot of science behind it, there have been few incidents where people were hit by ‘flying poop’, dropped by a flying plane mid-flight.

Looking at this audacity or accident, it has now been decided that any airline in India which is caught practising this act, will now be fined ₹50,000 if their planes discard human waste mid-flight.
The decision was taken by the aviation ministry after a retired Army officer who is a resident of Delhi and had alleged that airlines have been dumping human waste over residential complexes near the airport.
While the aviation ministry had initially challenged his claim, they had to introduce the fine after the international aviation authorities acknowledged the fact that mid-air lavatory leaks can occur.
