Sachin Tendulkar had said in 2012 that if someone can break one of his records, it would be Rohit Sharma or Virat Kohli. And it seems that his words were true because team India skipper Virat Kohli has been on a record-shattering spree. Recently, he became the fastest batsman in the world to score 10,000 runs in One-Day Internationals (ODIs). Virat Kohli broke Sachin Tendulkar’s record leaving behind the master blaster at the second spot.

Kohli achieved this milestone in the second ODI of the five-match series against the Windies on October 24, 2018,  in Visakhapatnam. The 29-year-old achieved the target in 205 innings, surpassing his idol Sachin Tendulkar, who did it in 259.

Virat Kohli also scored his 37th ODI century. Here is his reaction after the achievement.

Virat Kohli is now the fifth Indian batsman and 13th overall to score 10,000 runs in the 50-over game. He is also the second youngest (29y 353d) to the milestone after Tendulkar (27y 341d).

After Virat Kohli Broke Sachin Tendulkar’s Record, the maestro took to Twitter to congratulate him.

Other legends were also not behind in praising the Indian Skipper.

We also congratulate the Indian skipper and wish that he breaks many more records in the coming days!
