Bollywood’s glitz and glamour may make you swoon and go gaga about it, but it also has a dark side (scandals and casting couches ) which is always kept under the rug. Aspiring actresses of the television and film industry have often been found caught in the pitfall of sex rackets. And this has happened yet again.
On December 17, Hyderabad Police busted a prostitution racket in which two aspiring actresses were allegedly trapped. The police has arrested two men under sections of the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act (PITA) in the matter. These men reportedly are brokers who were running a racket online and booking rooms in luxury hotels for the customers.
These brokers have been identified as Monish Kadakia, casting director of Telugu films and D Venkat Rao, casting director of Tamil films. Three mobile phones, Rs 55,000 cash and a car have been recovered from the accused.
A simultaneous raid was conducted by Hyderabad Police in Taj Deccan and Taj Banjara hotels in posh Banjara Hills area of the city. Two actresses, one of them working as an actress in a Bengali television serial and the other one in Bollywood were rescued in the raid. They have reportedly been arrested on the charges of prostitution. Police recovered packets of condoms, Aadhar cards and PAN cards of the girls from their hotel rooms.

Five star hotels of posh Banjara Hills area of Hyderabad was raided. The brokers had booked two rooms, one in Taj Deccan and one in Taj Banjara.
According to the police, the 24-year old actress who has worked in Telugu and Bollywood films and is aspiring to establish her name in Hindi films is identified as Richa Saxena. The actress who works in a Bengali television serial is 20 years old and has been identified as Shubhra Chatterjee.
Reportedly, the dealers connected with Bollywood and Tollywood actresses online and also operated their racket online. They charged Rs 30000 to Rs 50000 from each customer. Janardan Alais, one more dealer, who is a part of this racket is absconding and hasn’t yet been arrested by the police.
