This is the strangest news you will read today! Veteran actress, Rati Agnihotri and her husband Anil Virwani have been accused of tampering the electricity meter of their Worli residence. The two have been booked in a case of electricity theft of 46.98 lakh rupees.

The whole case came into notice when an engineer from Brihanmumbai Electricity Supply and Transport (BEST) visited their house. According to the source, the two have not paid for 1,77,647 units of electricity and this has been going on since April 2013.
An FIR has been filed against the couple at the Worli police station. The actress wasn’t available for any comment but her husband has given his comments about the whole case and said,
Neither me nor Rati nor my son Tanuj is in Mumbai right now. I was shocked when I learnt about the matter this afternoon. There has been some misunderstanding and I will address the issue when I return to the city. We have been living in this apartment building for nine or ten years and nothing of this sort has happened before. I am saddened that I was not given a chance to explain. The officials arrived and said they wanted to see the house so I called two of my staff members and allowed them in. I am completely taken by surprise.
They have simply denied knowing anything about this crime. Now, only time will tell the truth.
