Known Gujarati Television and Theatre actor Mukesh Rawal was found dead on November 15 when his body was recovered from the railway tracks near Mumbai’s Kandivali station.
The body was recovered by Government Railway Police (GRP) officials who said they received a call about an accident that had taken place on tracks.
GRP further added that the accident might have occurred when Rawal was crossing the tracks and hit by a train.
Rawal who was 66 years-old had essayed many roles over the years, the biggest one being that of ‘Vibhishan’ in Ramanand Sagar’s mythological show ‘Ramayana.’
Rawal, who had portrayed many roles over the decades and was currently working on Gujarati TV serial “Nass Nass Mei Khunnas”.
According to GRP, they were informed about the accident around 9.30 am by the Kandivali station master.
They had rushed the victim to a public hospital but on arrival, the doctors pronounced him dead.
They initially were not able to establish his identity as his phone wasn’t on him and it was only on November 16 when his family started inquiring about him at various hospitals that they were able to find who he was.
His family had gone to various police stations with his photograph and were then directed to the railway cops by the local police.
They later identified his body on the basis of his clothes. Rawal is survived by wife, and two daughters, both of whom are married.
