Aamir Khan is a perfectionist. Every role he takes up is portrayed with sheer perfection and sensitivity. The energy and the honesty he brings to his characters is outstanding, leaving us engrossed every single time.
Also, before he signs for a role, it is important for him to be convinced that he and only he can justify it. If not, it certainly abandons it. The same happened when he was offered Rajinikanth’s role in ‘2.0’.
In his interview with Zee ETC, he shared the incident when Rajini sir had called him to do the film since he wasn’t feeling well. Aamir narrated,
Rajini sir himself wasn’t feeling well that time so he told Shankar, please request Aamir. Rajini Sir called me up and said, Please do the film. It’s a superb script and it’s going to do very well. Whenever I used to shut my eyes, I used to see Rajini sir in that role. I could not see myself. Emotionally, when I used to think of the film, think of the scene, Rajini sir used to come in my head. I could not imagine myself doing it. Then I told Shankar that I won’t be able to do it. Only Rajini sir can do it. He is irreplaceable. I can only imagine Rajini sir in this. See, he had also done the first part, I had seen the first part and I loved it.
He also added that this movie is going to be the biggest hit in all languages.
