Women were molested by an untold number of men on New Year’s Eve in Bengaluru. Men groped women as police – around 1500 of them according to a report – could do little.
It is true that the police jumped into action but they could not fully prevent the unusually high number of men from their nefarious acts.
What is shocking is that instead of taking immediate action against the perpetrators, many of whom were photographed by the journalists of Bangalore Mirror, the Congress government in Karnataka remains mum.
Aamir Khan has become the first celebrity to speak on the horrific incident. At a press conference the acclaimed actor said that those who committed the crime should be punished to set an example that rule of law prevails.

“Those who molest women know they won’t be punished. Only when perpetrators are put behind bars within 2-3 months of the incident can fear be put into the hearts of the molesters.”
Kudos to Aamir Khan for raising the matter at a time when some ‘liberal intellectual’ journalists have chosen to look the other way because of their political leanings.
