The supporters of Jallikattu have been protesting peacefully across Tamil Nadu. The centre of the protest has been Marina Beach in Chennai, where thousands have gathered with slogans calling for the removal of the ban on the bull taming sport.
The protestors are not only been praised by all for the peaceful demonstration – a stark contrast to how protests happen in the rest of India – but also for keeping aside caste and religious differences for the sake of an ancient Tamil tradition.
In fact, some of the most influential voices from the state from the world of cinema to sports have joined their voices with that of the protestors underlining the significance of the tradition to Tamil people.
Now, proving that the Tamil tradition is above all religions, legendary composer A.R. Rahman, too, joined the protestors with this tweet:

His fast is significant as it is the first by any celebrity in favour of Jallikattu. It also marks the highest point of the protest and could become the most defining one.
