Recently, the Supreme Court had ordered the closure of liquor shops and bars within 500 meters of national/state highways while hearing a PIL (public interest litigation) filed by NGO Arrive Safe. Since then, several bars and even five stars hotels located near the highway had to stop serving liquor.
It is said that drinking is injurious to health, but it seems that it makes your brain work better. This notion holds true for a bar owner in Kerala, who saved his liquor business with a clever idea. He built a new route to his bar by constructing a 250-300 meter path around it, just like a maze.
The bar owner, Shoji, spoke to The News Minute, and told them that it cost them Rs 2 lakh to do this. Located on NH17, Paravoor, the bar is now surrounded by a wide maze, and the customers will have to take a long conscious walk before they become intoxicated.
Well, the idea has certain advantages, too. It is a smart way to gauge how drunk you are. If you can make your way out of it, you are fine. Otherwise, make sure the cab is ready.
