In a country that is gung-ho about the game of Cricket, nine-year-old Anadi Tagde is making her mark by not only playing the game well but playing it so well that she has already been chosen for the Indore division’s Under – 19 cricket squad.
A budding bowler, Tagde is a right-arm medium pacer who is fascinated by the game.
While she was initially afraid of the leather ball, she admired the game so much that she not only overcame that fear but developed her talent with that same leather ball and become a senior division team player.

So I used to play with my elder brother. Then my father Anurag Tagde sent me to a local cricket club for training. I was scared of the leather ball initially, but my father encouraged me and then the fear melted away.”
Excited that she would be getting the opportunity to show her talent, Anandi would play her first Inter-division match on April 27 in the ‘Under-19 Girls tournament’ in Gwalior.
According to her coach, Anandi admires Hardik Pandaya and wants to play for India one day. She also added that her biggest dream is to meet the cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar one day.
Anandi’s mother Deepti, who use to play Cricket at the university level herself, added that though she was not able to go beyond university cricket, her daughter will now accomplish her dream.
