A Border Security Force (BSF) camp in Dantiwada in Banas Kantha District of Gujarat, got emotional when 85-year-old Vasumati Ben Okhalal Joshi met the 250 jawans.
She distributed sweets to the jawans with her own hands, and said they are invaluable to the nation and whatever the countrymen can do for them is less.
She said not only her but each one of the countrymen are with them. Vasumati Ben also expressed her gratitude towards the security forces, who, silencing the adversaries, ensure peace in the country.
She also went to a nearby hospital and distributed sweets and fruits to sick and injured soldiers.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 30 celebrated Diwali with jawans of the Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Indian Army and Dogra Scouts in Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh. Showering his praise on the armed forces guarding the nation, Prime Minister Modi had dedicated this year’s Diwali to the jawans.
PM Modi’s #Sandesh2Soldiers, a campaign to send Diwali greetings and messages to soldiers guarding the nation’s frontiers, has received massive response from users with many posting their video message on twitter.
“Dedicate this Diwali to our soldiers. #Sandesh2Soldiers hashtag was used so much by everyone and we were flooded with well wishes and love for jawans from citizens. Be it BSF, CRPF etc, our jawans are on duty and guarding us; that is why we are celebrating Diwali joyfully,” said the Prime Minister.
