7. Maneka Gandhi
The famous Indian politician, ManekaGhandhi, who is currently serving the country as the Indian Cabinet Minister for Women &Chils Development, spent her early childhood at Lawrence School, Sanawar. She completed her primary education here. Who would have guessed back then, that she would grow up to become a politician, and of course a renowned environmentalist too.
6. Capt. Amarinder Singh
Born in 1942, Capt Amarinder Singh is an Indian politician, who belongs to the Indian National Congress party. He is also the former Chief Minister of Punjab state. Son of Jai Inder Kaur and Raninder Singh, Capt. Amarinder Singh is a proud alumnus of Lawrence School, Sanawar. His wife Preneet Kaur is also a former MP, who has served as Minister of State in External Affairs Ministry.
5. Omar Abdullah
Son of Farooq Abdullah, Omar Abdullah became the 11th Chief Minister of the Indian State of Jammu and Kashmir. Omar completed his schooling from Sanawar School. He passed out from the school in 1989. Before he joined politics, Omar was posted in Mumbai and Hyderabad. In the year 1998, at the age of 28, Omar was elected for the 12thLokSabha, becoming the youngest minister.
4. Apurva Lakhia
An established Bollywood Director today, Apurva joined Sanwar in class 1 completed his 12th standard here. He passed out in the year 1989. Some of his famous works include, ‘Shootout at Lokhandawala’, ‘Mumbai Se AyaMera Dost’ and ‘Mission Istanbul’.
3. Pooja Bedi
No one can forget the stunning beautiful former Bollywood actress, who also hosted a number of talk shows on television during the 1990’s – Pooja Bedi. Daughter of actor Kabir Bedi and the late Indian classical dancer, Protima Bedi – Pooja Bedi is also an alumnus of Lawrence School, Sanawar. 2. Saif Ali Khan
Son of gorgeous Bollywood actress, Sharmila Tagore and former Indian Cricket team, Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi – Saif Ali Kahan has also studied from this premier institution. He made his debut in Bollywood in the year 1992 with Parampara, which was directed by Yash Chopra. However, he had his first success with Yeh Dillagi and Main Khiladi Tu Anari, released in 1994. Son of legendary Bollywood Actors Nargis and Sunil Dutt – Sanjay studies at the Lawrence School in Sanawar as a border for 11 years. As a child, Sanjay appeared in ReshmaAurShera in 1972. He is best known for his outstanding performances in Bollywood Blockbusters like KhalNayak,Saajan, Sadak and many more. This famous Bollywood star was also associated with politics, but only for a brief time. In addition, he also gained media attention for the felonies he committed during the Mumbai blasts in 1993.
