Kolkata might be renowned for its cuisine and cultural heritage, but not many of us are acquainted of the fact that the place is also the seat for modern education and performing arts. Again located off Sudder Street, near Esplanade, this is a classic place where you can meet different kinds of travelers to the city. Other than single, double and quadruple rooms, they have dorm facility too where each bed costs around 80 rupees per night. The rooms are priced at Rs. 140 onwards.

2. Youth Hostel, Kolkata

The most preferable, safe and “cool” place for students and young working professionals to stay in the city is the Youth Hostel. In fact, Kolkata’s youth hostel, unlike other government youth hostels, provides a proper hotel-like atmosphere at much cheaper rates. Located opposite Rabindra Bharati University, opposite B.T. Road, the hotel offers amenities such as laundry, wake-up service, provision of TV, games and luggage storage among others. However, unlike the other ones, the price is a bit steep, at the per-room rate scaling upwards of Rs. 900, making it quite impossible for students of all classes to accommodate in.
