Good News For Lucknow As FIH Confirms City As Host Of 2016 Junior Hockey World Cup

It was joyous news for the city of Lucknow as on June 7, International Hockey Federation (FIH) announced that the city will host for the upcoming junior men’s Hockey World Cup that is to take place in December this year.


The news announced by FIH President Leandro Negre, who said :

Delighted with the news, Hockey India President Narinder Batra thanked FIH and said that “there is no better host than the cradle of Indian hockey.”

The event is scheduled from December 8 till December 18, with 16 teams participating in it.

Besides host nation India, other teams that would be part of the event are defending champions Germany, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Egypt, England, Germany, Japan, Korea, Netherlands, South Africa, New Zealand, Pakistan and Spain.
