13 Terrifying Horror Movies You Can’t UNSEE

From deadly traps to gruesome torture and freaky-faced killers tomurderer stalkers, horror movies have everything that twists our emotions around in a swirl.

My fixation with Horror movies is somewhat inseparable. Growing up in the mountains, I still remember how we were rendered with fiction stories about ghosts and evil spirits. My tiny tot friends and cousin and I would always enjoy such narratives.

With the passage of time, I switched to horror movies to satiate my appetite for the ghosts. And, after rummaging through large collections of horror movies, here’s a list of 13 promising movies, I recommend every horror freak to watch at least once.

1. Psycho (1960)


Based on the famous1959 novel “Psycho” by Robert Bloch, the movie takes a leap when Marion steals $40,000 from her workplace and decides to run away from the town. In her escape she drives into an isolated motel where things surprisingly go scary.

2. Candyman (1992)

Based on the novel “The Forbidden by Clive Barker,” Candyman is about Helen Lyle a graduate student who accidently encounters a murderous soul.

3. Event Horizon (1997)

The movie is ascience fiction cum horror story. The story plots around a rescue spaceship program that was sent to the Neptune orbit to bring back information about a starship that went missing 7 years ago. However, on their arrival, the crew finds evidence of a slaughter and things turn creepy.

4. The Cabin of Woods (2012)

Five friends bargain for a wooden apartment in remote area for stay, but quickly find the residence haunted and scarier to what they expected.

5. V/H/S (2012)

The movieisa collection of 6 short horror films that are interlinked with the concept of reviled video footage.

6. The House of Devil (2009)

The movie narrates a strange experience about a college student Samantha Hughes, who undertakes a babysitting job for extra money. However, she isn’t aware of the terrifying secrets about her master who has intended to use Samantha as a part of an unholy ceremony.

7. Poltergeist (1982)

Written and produced by Steven Spielberg, the movie is about a family and how their house is invaded by malevolent ghosts.

8. Satan’s Little Helper (2004)

Satan’s Little Helper is based around a nine year old boy Dougie, who is possessed with a video game called Satan’s little helper. See how the fictional character from the games comes real and how Dougie uses the character for his intentions.

9. Session 9 (2001)

Thisindependent psychological horror film is about a collection of nine taped sessions and other bizarre happenings in The Danvers State Hospital.

10. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974)

A trip to a grandfather’s house in the countryside turns into a terror hunt for five friends, when they encounter witha chain-saw wielding killer.

11. Sinister (2012)

Sinister is a supernatural horror about a fictional true-crime writer Ellison Oswalt, who finds a box of movies in his attic that brings his family in danger.

12. The Shinning

Based on Stephen King’s 1977 novel “The Shinning,” the movie revolves around a father and his psychic son who sees horrific forebodings from the past and future.

13. The Exorcist(1973)

All time horror classic, The Exorcist is a story of how amother seeks the help of two priests to save her daughter who is possessed by a mysterious entity.
