Is there anyone who has watched at least one season of “How I Met Your Mother” and hasn’t become a fan? Good luck if you want to find any such person. From the sitcom’s inception in the year 2005 there has been no stopping for their fan base has been increasing by leaps and bounds. You can surely rank the show after the doubly successful F.R.I.E.N.D.S. The show is about a protagonist who tells his children about how he met his wife, that is, their mother. A series of laughathon awaits you as you follow each episode of fun and laughter. Here are few of the things probably you’d not know about the show. Let’s check out:
12. Does anyone have the slightest idea of what Barney does?
However much you see the episodes and however much you research, answer this simple question – what does Barney do for a living? Well, watching and re-watching the episodes will do you no good. It is, I guess, the biggest mystery after ‘who’s the mother?’
11. Hey, who’s Ted’s best friend?
There have been claims made by both Marshall and Barney but at the end of the day it’s Marshall. However, Barney has his own funny ways of imposing his comments and that’s the way he always claims that he is Ted’s best friend. Hilarious!
10. 83? Check. 8? Check. 3? Check. Well, it’s Barney
Almost all of the statistics used by Barney on the show anything to do with these three figures – 3, 8 and 83. Nobody has any clue as to why these numbers are ‘so’ worthwhile for Barney but he does use them quite often. There is more to Barney than you can expect, really.
9. Barney is not really a womanizer
In real life Barney is far far away from the womanizer that he is. Neil Patrick Harris, his name, is actually gay and he has a long time partner with whom he is parenting a child too. Can it be imagined after what we see on the show? He does act really well.
8. Cobie and Robin are both from Vancuover
Cobie Smulders with whom Barney has an on-off crush is from Vancuover as Robin Scherbatsky, the name of her character. You thought that the accent was fake? No, it’s what she was born with.
7. Ted and the makers are all from Ohio
The protagonist Ted and the makers of the show Carter Bays and Craig Thomas are actually from the same place, that is, Ohio. Did any one of the two share the story of Ted? Might be!

6. Ted is allergic to dogs
You have seen Ted struggle with dogs many a times. But, his struggle was far from acting – Josh Radnor is actually too allergic to dogs in real life. You’ll get a clue when you see him panicking at the sight of one. It’s natural.
5. HIMYM is a lot about Guest Stars
Guest stars on this show are a very common deal here. From Britney Spears to Katy Perry, you’ve seen ‘em all. Barney gets the most exited at each ones arrival.
4. Victoria is Ted’s Ex
You’ve seen a lot of Victoria since she has made the most appearances after Robin as Ted’s favourite. She’s also one of Ted’s favourite girlfriends.
3. Ted’s children were only shown in Season 1
Ted’s children, as a matter of fact, have really grown up. But the show has them really small as Ted tells them how he met their mother. So if you haven’t seen them in season 1 then you will never see them again.
2. Ted and Robin salute as army officers
Whenever there is something happening around which is quite fun – you have Ted and Robin saluting as though to an army officer.
1. The blogs mentioned by Barney are real
There are a host of websites that are mentioned in this show which are actually, officially, true. You can check them out. Barney’s real over here.
