Controversial Islamic televangelist Zakir Naik has lodged a defamation case against Times Now’s chief Arnab Goswami along with other executives of the news organization.

He is now seeking an unconditional apology from Goswami and Times Now and asked them for Rs 500 crore as compensation as the show “tarnished” his reputation in the eyes of the general public.
Naik, preaches on his Peace TV and has been under the India’s investigating agencies scanner after two terrorists involved in Dhaka attack, were said to be influenced by him.
He also added that the news channel has not just defamed and maligned him but have also hurt his religious sentiments.
