The body of the local youth, Yasir Hussain, who was attacked by goons in Russian province of Tatarstan, was laid to rest at his ancestral graveyard in Srinagar.
Thousands of people participated in his funeral prayers and demanded justice for the deceased’s family.

Yasir’s body was brought in an ambulance to his Hassanabad residence in Srinagar on March 12.
The mourners carried the photographs of the 27-year-old and black flags demanding justice for the family during the funeral procession.
Earlier, the External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj had tweeted:
Swaraj also assured that she will take up the matter with Russian authorities. She tweeted: Yasir hailed from a business family and dealt in handicrafts, particularly paper machie goods. He was on a business trip to Russia when he was attacked by local goons while returning to his hotel.
The attackers, apparently robbers, took away his bag containing money, passport and other belongings.

Yasir was taken to the hospital where he slipped into coma and, after battling for life for a few days was declared dead. Murtaza Jaffar, a friend of Yasir, informed the External Affairs Minister through a tweet about the incident.
