U.S. President Barack Obama praised a six-year-old Alex who asked his help to adopt a five-year-old Syrian boy as a brother.
Obama said,”Those are the words of a six-year-old boy — a young child who has not learned to be cynical, or suspicious, or fearful of other people because of where they come from, how they look, or how they pray.”
In a letter to Obama, Alex said that he was moved by image of a five-year-old boy Omran Daqneesh sitting in an ambulance trying to wipe the blood from his hands.
Alex lives in Scarsdale, New York.
He said Omran could be part of his family and will teach him how to speak English, to ride a bike. He added that his sister Catherine would share her toys with him.
Alex wrote,”My sister would collect butterflies for him. We can all play together. We will give him a family and he will be our brother.”
The post collected more than 17 million likes and has been shared more than three lakh times.
Alex generous offer won many hearts on social media. Many aid they cried when they heard Alex’s heartwarming request.
