One of the most successful shows in the history of American Television, the American Idol first debuted in the American Television space in the year 2002. It is a reality television singing competition created by Simon Fuller and produced by 19 Entertainment, and distributed by Fremantle Media North America. The show has been such a grand success that its 12th season debuted this year.  10. “Bridge Over Troubled Water” by Clay Aiken:

9. “I (Who Have Nothing)” by Haley Reinhart:

It was her one shot at making into the final three of season 10, influenced by the advice of guest mentor Lady Gaga, Haley Reinhart gave one of her best performances in the form of I (Who Have Nothing). It was undoubtedly the most remarkable performance of the season and by far one of the most powerful American Idol moments.

8. “Mad World” by Adam Lambert:

A runner up of season eight, he rose to prominence after appearing for the show. His antics though loved by audience earned him the tag of a singer who was good only at flamboyant high energy performances. Inspite of being the youngest American Idol winner until May 23, 2007, she was probably one of the very best. Her performance of the Porgy and Bess standard “Summertime” was one of the greatest and illustrious moments in television history. It wasn’t only the audience or the judges who were moved by her act but Fantasia herself was left in tears for the way she felt and sang the song. It is downright the best moment of Idol history.
