2. Gangs of Wasseypur I (2012):

Produced and directed by Anurag Kashyap this first of the two-part series released in 2012 was lauded by critics and fans alike. The entire film was shot at one go but due to the extended time of 318 minutes of the complete print, it was eventually divided into two movies. With the central plot of three feuding families, the story moves from 1940s to mid-1990s. It takes inspiration from the real mafia families of Wasseypur in Dhanbad, Jharkhand. No holds bar abuse, ferocity, carnage and bloodshed make this an out and out crime feature; and definitely one of the best crime movies of Bollywood.

This is the second installment of the Gangs of Wasseypur saga, and is all about the conflicts among three influential crime families. Politics, crime and revenge rule the roost in this segment, too. Produced and directed by Anurag Kashyap, the cast includes Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Richa Chadda, Tigmanshu Dhulia, Pankaj Tripathi, Raj Kumar Yadav, Huma Qureshi and Zeishan Quadri. The story of this part spans over two decades, 1990s to 2009. Violence, blood and gore are unleashed in full throttle in this epic crime drama.
