“Where are my keys?” Haven’t we heard ourselves asking the same question over and over again? In fact why only us, we have heard everyone around ask the same thing. What is it with keys that so often seem to disappear from plain sight? You are just back after your weekly grocery marathon, carrying more bags than your pair of hands can handle, you are at your doorstep dying to get those bags off your hands but hold on a second. 10. On top of the TV:
We spend a considerable amount of time at home watching television. At times it is the first thing we put on as we enter the house then why not just keep the keys on top of it. Sounds like a good option, doesn’t it? There would be very little chance of you misplacing it if your activities in the house centre on the idiot box and you make it a point to keep your keys there.

9. Kitchen Table:
Another place which could be a great option to keep those keys could be the Kitchen table. Place them on a box on that and it would always be right in front of your eyes. While on your way out to work or school or college, you have your hurried breakfast on that table so placing the keys in a box on that could only place it in front of your eyes to enable you to carry it along. When you come back home; it is also the place where you have your dinner and talk about all the events during the day; so just drop your keys back to the box to find it lying right there the next day!

8. Inside the Laptop Bag:
You don’t go to office without that all important laptop of yours; so why not keep your keys in the laptop bag or knapsack? Obviously laptop being an important and expensive item you would go out of your way to keep it guarded and in an easy to get to space at home. Keeping your keys along with it only ensures a good chance of always finding it where you left it. Yes, it is unorthodox, I agree, but laptops have become the most essential accessory for office only in recent years. Haven’t they?

7. Hook in the kitchen:
For the ladies out there, it is the kitchen you directly go to after reaching home from work. It is a place where you spend countless hours of your day whether you like it or not. So hang those keys in a hook in the kitchen wall they will be right in front of you all the time and you will always know where those ever elusive keys are even when in a hurry. It’s your territory; you could hardly lose anything in there and that makes it one of those accessible places to keep your keys.

6. On the shelf in the living room:
As you enter the house or leave it, you pass right through your living room. The place where you keep your keys should be such that it falls right in the path of you activity in and out of the house so that you wouldn’t forget or miss it. The living room is perfect for that. Get a box and place it in the shelf there and place all your keys right where you want them.

5. In a box on top of the refrigerator:
The kitchen and the dining hall are more often than not the centre of activity in most households and why not the most important person in the house, the mother or the wife, spends a huge chunk of her time there. Each member of the family goes to that one room to find her while going out or coming back from work. Also in these rooms you find the refrigerator with all the delicious food inside but have you thought of the space on top of it. Since we spend so much time there, why not put the keys on top of it too perhaps in a box or a tray whatever suits the individual? The point here is the keys would then be in that part of the house which is the most frequented and hence well within reach.

4. On the bedside table:
The bedside table has everything starting from your mobile and its charger, the landline, the alarm clock, your medicines, torch, spectacles and more; then why refrain from placing the keys there? It is one of the most accessible places to keep your keys. It would be right there in plain sight and along with other essential items that you carry along while going out you would hardly risk leaving them behind or for that matter even misplacing them.

3. On a hook near the door:
Remember your grandmother hanging the keys on the hook near the door? You would wonder why on earth would someone place keys on the door, wouldn’t you? The reason being, it is the point where you enter and leave your house through. So how hard could it be to leave the keys in it? If you make a habit of hanging your keys on that; there is a very slim chance of you losing them. Moreover it is a point which will always be right in front of your eyes as you pass through the door, whether in or out, hence an apt position to have the keys hang by.

It is your purse where you carry all your money, credit and debit cards, driving license and more. It is something that you take care of and make sure to keep in a secure and easy to reach place at all times. So what could be a better option to keep your keys than your purse? For the ladies who carry a small part of their world in their bags, the keys can actually find no other place where there is lesser risk of them being misplaced. It’s quite simple; you carry your purse with you when you leave home and bring it back when you return so making that the place to tuck in your keys is indeed a wonderful option.

Up until now we discussed on how we could place the keys in several rooms, hooks or boxes, but wouldn’t it be best if we had a piece or item that was specifically designed to store keys? Just like a stand to hang coats or clothes, a key stand could be used to keep the keys.
