Kayaking is an Olympic sport but Pedro Oliva is someone who has turned it into a dangerous sport by paddling around one of the world’s most hazardous volcanoes. The Mauna Loa volcano in Hawaii is one picture-perfect destination for adventure photographers. However, one has to be really high on adrenalin to dare kayaking on the waters around it where temperatures easily surpass 90 degrees. The additional ‘attraction’, if you may, is the molten lava that seeps into the waters. Can that deter Oliva? Check his pictures.
