Lalu Prasad Yadav’s son Tej Pratap is the health minister of Bihar, but he is in the news for everything but his work. On Tuesday, July 5, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) was celebrating its 20th
foundation day. The mood was upbeat for the party workers and party chief Lalu Prasad was himself present at the occasion. So was the media, for RJD’s foundation day is news worth covering.
At the event, Tej Pratap reportedly asked to see the camera of a journalist. The journo obliged and Tej Pratap started checking and clicking pictures with that.
Another journalist from a TV channel clicked a photo of Tej Pratap with the camera. At this the young minister lost his temper and asked the journalist to delete the photo.
He was later captured on video threatening to file a defamation suit against the journalist if the latter did not obey. “I will file a case…a defamation case. Delete it,” threatens Tej Pratap.
All the while, Lalu Prasad Yadav, who was sitting two seats from Tej Pratap, was seen trying to pacify his son with the words, “Arre, ho gaya
. Kar denge delete
.” (Okay, fine. He’ll delete it.)
In response, some of the journalists at the venue staged a walk out. It was only at the request of Lalu Prasad Yadav that they returned.
