Sushma Swaraj Comes To Aid Of Widow And Her Newborn Who Were Stranded In US

MEA minister Sushma Swaraj once again came to aid of a woman and her newborn who are left stranded in US after her husband’s death.

The woman Deepika Pandey gave birth to a baby girl few days ago, who is an American citizen. Her delivery was just few weeks after her husband, a software engineer, died of a heart attack.

Deepika also has a four-year-old son.

Swaraj had directed Indian Embassy in Washington to help Pandey.

The trouble brewed for woman and her family after her husband’s demise. To ensure her well being, her friends took her to New Jersey from Boston. However, there her medical insurance wasn’t considered valid. So, the family asked the government to help them with medical expenses. Later, the family  requested the government to ensure early grant of passport to the new born so that she and her kids can come come back to India.
