A couple was married off by the police on the road.
Ajit Kumar is a constable with the Shashatra Seema Bal (SSB). Like any other human being, he fell in love with a girl. And like some love stories go, the couple eloped to marry at a temple.
A resident of Chakajmal village in Hajipur district of Bihar, Kumar found in Supriya of neighbouring Sahdei village his dream girl.
But of course, their respective families were against their union.
Supriya’s family filed an FIR against Ajit and his family following her elopement.
On Friday, Supriya surrendered before the court and deposed that she wanted to marry Ajit and spend her life with him. The court found that Supriya is an adult and has the right to choose her husband. Based on this the court gave its nod to their union.
Again, Supriya’s family was not happy about the decision. According to reports, they tried to create a ruckus in the court premises.
The police took both Supriya and Ajit to the police station. Following the court’s decision, the police then helped the two get married properly.
And given that the girl’s family was creating a ruckus, the police hurriedly married them off on the road.
It was a fine spectacle for the crowd which gathered to see the SSB constable marry his love.
Some Good Samaritans helped the couple with the necessary materials such as garlands, mangalsutra
and vermillion. The police then gave the couple a warm send-off.
