On September 4, 2016, Raghuram Rajan will step down as the Governor of the Reserve Bank of India. He has been instrumental in bringing about hope in the Indian economy because when he joined, the currency was plunging daily, inflation was high, and growth was weak.
Amartya Sen, Nobel laureate, spoke against Ranjan’s desire to discontinue, and we acknowledged and respected his viewpoint. But, when a not-so-successful actor like Soha Ali Khan expressed her opinion, we asked, “How dare she?”
