An overdose occurs when a person ingests some form of drug or stimulant in a quantity that the body cannot handle. Usually overdoses prove to be fatal and lead to death. She was an extremely talented artist and had a fairly long career considering the fact that she died at a very young age of 28. Amy Winehouse is ranked high on the list of the Top 100 Women in Music. Judy Garland was a well known American actor and a singer. She died of an accidental drug overdose at the age of 47 in 1969. Throughout her career she was at a constant war with her personal life, drugs and alcohol. Billie Holiday was a well known jazz singer born on the 17th of April 1917 in Pennsylvania, United States. Her unique vocal skills which had drawn a great deal influence from instrumentals in Jazz helped give shape to a new way to phrase and change tempos in vocal jazz. During her career Billie Holiday recorded as many as 12 albums within the span of 7 years. She was an immensely successful jazz singer during and after her time. She was financially wrecked because of her addictions and died of a heart failure in 1959.
