A shoe was hurled at Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi on September 26 when he was riding on top of an open vehicle during his UP road show. The incident happened in Sitapur, Uttar Pradesh while Rahul was passing through the city as part of his ‘Kisan Yatra’.
The man who hurled the shoe has been identified as Hari Om Mishra and is said to be a local journalist.
Mishra, who was immediately detained by the police, was reportedly upset with Rahul as he feels he is aware of the ground reality of farmers in the state, yet has done nothing about it.
