PV Sindhu became the first Indian woman to reach the finals of any game in Rio Olympics and also the first one to win a silver medal in the same sporting event.
After Sakshi Malik, who won India’s first medal at Rio Olympics, PV Sindhu gave us another proud moment.Twitter got flooded with millions and millions of congratulatory wishes.
But, Virender Sehwag’s wish was something unique that conveyed an essential message!
He cheered PV Sindhu as many others were expecting a gold.
And further tweeted…
Earlier, when Sakshi bagged India’s first medal at Rio Olympics, Sehwag through his tweet conveyed the importance of having a girl child.
His another tweet stressing upon saving a girl child…
After Sakshi and PV Sindhu’s win, all we could feel is proud of India’s daughters. But, even today in India, giving birth to a girl child is discouraged. Girls are still not given independence what they actually deserve, they are killed in their mother’s womb. Female feticide is a taboo that should be eradicated from our nation as fast as possible!
One needs to understand that if s/he give this independence to their daughters, then they never know, their daughters can also someday become another Sakshi or PV Sindhu and make the nation feel proud.
