Sachin Tendulkar Joins Salman Khan As India’s Olympics Goodwill Ambassador

Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar accepted Indian Olympic Association’s (IOA) invitation to become India’s Goodwill Ambassador for the upcoming 2016 Rio Olympics on May 3.

The move comes in just 10 days after IOA named Salman Khan as their Olympics 2016 ambassador.

Which is why many are saying it has been done so to ease down the controversy surrounding Salman’s appointment.

According to reports, some are of the opinion that the Olympic body was forced into naming other ambassadors as they were facing the flak for appointing India’s first ever Olympic Ambassador from a non-sporting background.

Besides Tendulkar, Olympic Gold medallist Abhinav Bindra has also been appointed as India’s Goodwill Ambassador.

He would also be participating in this Olympics.
