Prince William And Kate Spend Their First Evening In India Playing Cricket With Tendulkar

The Britsh Royal couple, Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton arrived in India on Sunday, April 10 and quickly started their Indian expedition from Mumbai.

The couple met India’s cricketing legends Sachin Tendulkar and Dilip Vengsarkar and played a friendly game of Cricket with them.




The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge went to Mumbai’s Oval Maidan recreation ground. Before a crowd of onlookers the trio started a game where Kate bravely wielded a bat as Sachin bowled a delivery to her.

Meanwhile, Vengsarkar and Prince William took up fielding as a young group of budding cricketers cheered them on.


Later Prince William too demonstrated his prowess in cricket and also participated in a number of other sporting activities with the local children.


After their cricket session in Oval Maidan, the couple went on to visit Mumbai’s ancient Banganga water tank, which is part of Walkeshwar Temple Complex and were were greeted by a group of dancers who welcomed them with garlands and offered them flowers for prayers at the temple.


They also visited Mumbai’s Taj Palace Hotel where they placed a wreath for the victims of the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks.


During their short stay at the hotel they also met with hotel staff who had helped protect guests during the terror attacks.

They then ended the evening by attending a Bollywood Charity gala which was organised by the British High Commission and the British Asian Trust, to raise funds for charities that Will and Kate had met during during the day.
