Dhoni’s Rising Pune Supergiants Broke An Unusual IPL Record In Their Match Against Kings XI

In 2011, Rajasthan Royals had set a record of scoring 147 runs without hitting a single six against then Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings.

On April 17, 2016 that record was broken by Dhoni’s new team Rising Pune Supergiants (RPS).

The boys of RPS scored 152 runs without hitting a ball over the ropes.

This becomes the highest score without a six in IPL T20 history.

Though Francois du Plessis and the hard-hitting Steve Smith struck 67 and 38, respectively, none went for the big hit.

Plessis hit eight fours, while Steve struck five.

Unfortunately that was the only good news for RPS last night.

Riding on the blistering knocks by its openers, Kings XI Punjab cruised to an easy win by six wickets.

Murali Vijay struck 53 and his opening partner Manan Vohra hit 51. Vijay did please the crowd with two sixes. And two more were struck by Maxwell, who remained not out with 32 off 14 deliveries.
