If you thought the brouhaha about Pakistani actors in Hindi movies had died down, you thought wrong! Karan Johar’s ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ hit theaters yesterday and Fawad Khan’s cameo in it has still got many people up in arms.

Right wing groups have been protesting the release of the film in many parts of the country. The protests have teetered on the edge of violence in Madhya Pradesh and Bengal.

In Tatya Tope Nagar, Madhya Pradesh, Shiv Sena workers tried to storm a theater where the film was being screened. Their attempts at violence were foiled by the police. One right-wing group managed to stop the screening of the movie for some time in Samdareeya Mall in Jabalpur. Demonstrations were held in Gwalior, too.

The Bajrang Dal is up in arms about the screening of ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ in Bengal. More than a hundred Bajrang Dal supporters surrounded a multiplex in Purulia district and forced the theatre management to cancel the first show. Late screenings of the movie continued as scheduled.

All in all, ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ continues to be in the news — free publicity and all, it is raking in the moolah at the box office — it made a whopping 13-something crore on its very first day; right wingers continue to stomp and shout, while KJo and Co. laugh all the way to the bank. The end!
