ABVP member of Meerut College has announced a reward of Rs.21,000 for cutting AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi’s tongue.
Dushyant Tomar, former president of the college students’ union, also wants Owaisi’s Lok Sabha membership to be terminated immediately. Owaisi stirred a controversy when he refused to chant ‘Bharat MaaKi Jai’. Addressing a public rally in Udgir tehsil in Latur district, he had said:
“I don’t chant that slogan (Bharat Mata Ki Jai). What are you going to do, Bhagwat sahab. Nowhere in the Constitution it says that one should say: Bharat Mata ki Jai.”
This is not the first threat Owaisi has received. Recently, Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha’s (BJYM) vice-president announced a reward of Rs.1 core to anyone who cuts off Owaisi’s tongue.
Shyam Prakash Dwivedi, who holds an MBBS degree from Gorakhpur Medical College, was suspended and removed from his post for his announcement.
BJP said, “Kashi region president Laxman Acharya has removed Shyam from the post of vice-president of Kashi unit of BJYM and suspended his primary membership.”

Training its gun on Owaisi, Shiv Sena recently demanded revocation of citizenship
and voting rights of those who refused to chant the slogan. It also lashed out at the leader saying the Muslim community has remained ‘backward’ due to the ideas propagated by people like him.
