Former India’s cricket team coach Ravi Shastri has resigned from his post as media representative in ICC Cricket Committee.
He said that he has resigned due to personal commitments and he has been there for six years
“I have already submitted my resignation. There are personal commitments,” Shastri told PTI.
However, BCCI officials speculate that he may have resigned as he hasn’t come to terms with rejection.
“Just like Sourav, Ravi is also an emotional man at one level. He is yet to come to terms with rejection. Since he became a media representative as BCCI nominee, probably, he is not willing to continue in that post. Also media representative is more of a decorative post in ICC Cricket Committee,”a BCCI source told PTI.
Earlier, Ravi Shastri and selecting committee member Sourav Ganguly had an ugly public spat over the appointment of Anil Kumble as India’s cricket team coach.
