Congress leader Rashid Alvi has stoked a controversy by calling Narendra Modi the ”most stupid prime minister” — thus agitating the audience and evoking sharp response from the ruling BJP.

He made this remark while participating in ”Samvad”, a programme by a TV channel to mark the two years of completion of the Narendra Modi-led BJP government.
Alvi had asked Union HRD Minister Smriti Irani, as to what action was being taken on Modi coming out as “most stupid Prime Minister” in Google search.
In her reply, Irani said, “In Congress, those who throw stones and spits at Narendra Modi will be blue-eyed.”
“The poison against Narendra Modi has crossed the limits that people forget that he is country’s Prime Minister,” she added.
And not only Smriti, the audience too got agitated, which asked him to take his words back and apologise. Despite attempts by the organisers of programme to pacify the charged audience, the crowd kept shouting ‘shame shame’ and ‘shame on Congress’.
She lashed out at Congress, and said:
In 2013 too, Alvi, at a press conference in party headquarters, had slammed Modi as “Yamraaj”—the God of death, and thus invoked sharp reactions.
