Rajdhani’s Engine Develops A Snag; Train Runs Driverless For 15 Km

Madgaon-Nizamuddin Rajdhani recently ran without a driver for 15 kilometers as the train engine developed a snag.

According to HT report, the train engine developed a fault and stopped inside a long tunnel around 5.50 pm near the Ratnagiri station. Though technicians tried to fix the problem, the train started moving. At that time, the driver was in the Guard’s cabin and jumped on the engine after the train slowed down.

Senior officials confirmed that due to loco failure, the train did roll without a driver for some time and an inquiry has been ordered.

Afterward, another engine arrived and dragged the train to  the next station. No casualty or loss of life has been reported.
