Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje on September 16 directed Rajasthan’s transport department to shift all their driving schools and driving tracks to an automated mode and asked them to be run them under the public – private – participation (PPP) mode.
The decision was taken during the review meeting of the department where she also said that the process of issuing the driving licenses should be computerized as it would discourage brokers that are active in the regional transport offices and would help the common man.
She also asked that the process of making driving licences and vehicle registration be shifted to an automated mode and driving schools run by the transport offices to function on PPP mode.
For on people who travel via buses, CM Raje directed the officials to immediately start work on developing bus terminals in Jaipur, Ajmer, and Udaipur and further develop facilities at other bus stands in the state.
The meeting was also attended by Rajasthan Transport minister Yunus Khan, ACS Public Works department DB Gupta, Principal Secretary Finance P S Mehra among others.
