There have been reports of a radioactive leak from the cargo area of the T3 terminal at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International airport, the Delhi fire department said.
As per initial reports, the department received a call from the T3 cargo terminal that radioactive material was leaking from some cargo.
As a preventive measure, the cargo complex was vacated by officials.
A team from the National Disaster Management Authority is also on way.
Teams of NDMA, NDRF, emergency response team of department of Atomic energy and team from Atomic energy regulatory board were rushed to the airport to check the reported leak.
Delhi Police said the suspected radioactive leak at Delhi Airport is a medical equipment.
Latest reports suggest that there was no radioactive leakage as the leakage is within permissible limits.
The all-clear has been now been given by the National Disaster Management Authority, an official said.
