Meet Radhe Maa, The God-Woman Who Gives Red Rose As ‘Prasad’

She calls herself a ‘Devi’ and, like any God-woman, has been able to raise curiosity among the hoi polloi with a slew of controversies. Questions have been raised on Radhe Maa’s spiritual ways and the behaviour of her disciples. A spiritual guru from Punjab, Radhe Maa has a case registered against her at a Mumbai police station. Yet her popularity doesn’t seem to fade away, reports Dainik Bhaskar.

Also called Mamtamayi Radhe Maa, Guru Maa, or Devi Maa by her disciples, the spiritual guru was born on March 3, 1969 and is believed to have studied upto the 10th standard.

Married at the age of 18 to Mohan Singh, she was left alone when he went aboard in search of better job opportunities. During this period she meet Raamdeen Das, under whose influence she became Radhe Maa.

It is said that Radhe Maa became an ascetic at the age of 23. Known to be an ardent worshipper of Shiva-Parvati and Goddess Kali, it is her appearance as a bride that has raised some eyebrows.

But that is not the only strange thing one sees at religious gatherings featuring her. Devotees receive red roses as prasad instead of the usual edible items.

Controversial or not, Radhe Maa has her own list of celebrity followers. It includes Daler Mehandi, Dolly Bindra, Manoj Tiwari, and Ad Guru Prahlad Kakkar among others.

Some well-known singers perform at her religious gatherings.
