Indian security agencies have advised Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take extra precaution this Independence Day and address the nation from within a bulletproof enclosure.
To make their voices heard they have even made a strong pitch to national security adviser Ajit Doval and asked him to advice PM not to ignore the threat advisory this time around.
If PM does heed caution, this might also be the first time that he would be allowing this kind of security around him.
In the last two years, PM Modi at the very last-minute had decided to do away with the bulletproof enclosure while giving his speech. Looking at this, the security agencies have also advised that PM Modi should wear a bulletproof vest as safety precaution, as they have learnt that the threat perception on the PM is “extremely high” this year.
According to sources, the recommendation has been made not just looking at the recent fallout in Kashmir, but also because the agencies intercepted communication about the use of drones.

They believe that to breach PM’s security cordon, the enemies might use drone technology and especially looking at growing ISIS-led terror attacks across the globe, they cannot take this risk.
They also suspect a possibility of coordinated attacks on August 15 and even a higher possibility of a lone-wolf attack.
