Amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan, former Pakistani cricketer Javed Miandad has spewed venom against India and said Prime Minister Narendra Modi does not know whom he is calling for fight.

He also claimed that every kid in Pakistan is ready for martyrdom.

In a televised interview with Pakistani news channel Samaa TV, Miandad said, “We are ready for martyrdom. Our nation cannot be cowed down by hollow threats.”

Earlier, Former Pakistan T20 International skipper Shahid Afridi urged both Asian neighbours Pakistan and India to say no to war. With the increasing tensions between the two nations at Line of Control (LOC), the star pleaded for peace in the region. He insisted that the things can be sorted out by dialogues instead of going to war which will affect both nations.

The Indian Army carried surgical strikes across the LoC on the intervening night of September 29 to neutralise terrorists from crossing over into India. Seven terror launch pads were destroyed. Two Pakistani soldiers and over 30 terrorists were reportedly killed in the attack.

Likewise, following the tense situations between the two neighbours, BCCI on September 30 decided that India will avoid playing Pakistan even in the multi-nation tournaments and asked the ICC not to place the teams of the two countries in the same group in the future.
