Paytm was in the news when it published an ad congratulating PM Modi for his bold step against corruption and black money.
Delhi CM, Arvind Kejriwal, raised an objection against the ad and even called the PM a beneficiary of Paytm…
Paytm biggest beneficiary of PM’s announcement. Next day PM appears in its ads. Whats the deal, Mr PM? https://t.co/lfP0PrQICQ

Though, the founder of Paytm gave a fitting reply to the CM and the controversy got resolved…
Dear Sir, The biggest beneficiary is our country. We are just a tech startup, trying to solve financial inclusion & make India proud. #🇮🇳 https://t.co/3rI8r6W0EZ

Paytm is in the news again and this time it’s because of its video advertisement. The advertisement features a woman who is supposed to pay her maid, cursing currency demonetization and talking about the issues people are facing these days while standing in queues outside banks and ATMs. Soon her maid comes and says “Madam drama band karo, Paytm karo.” This ad has created a buzz among users and has made them angry.
Take a look at the ad here. (It has originally been deleted by Paytm.)
People are facing a financial crisis and Paytm called it “drama”. Twitter users thrashed Paytm because of its “drama band karo” advertisement. The anger is visible in their tweets. Many have even asked others to boycott Paytm.

1. As people struggle to pay hospital fees, buy household items, travel and work, @Paytm brings out ads mocking the “drama” of their pain.

I deleted @PayTm app too.
People are dying and @vijayshekhar is insulting people’s pain, calling their plight Drama.
I can’t support that. https://t.co/N5bVnufKPJ

However, many diverted the topic and blamed media and Aam Aadmi Party behind the advertisement…
