While addressing a political  rally in Goa, India’s Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar said that India’s response to Pakistan’s “cowardly attacks” was so powerful that the Pakistan Army called the Indian armed forces some days back and pleaded that India should halt its response.

Parrikar then went to praise Prime Ministers Modi’s leadership and added that it was for the first time that a government had made such a strong policy decision on an attack.

“There is no doubt that the army is gallant, but for the first time, the country’s political leadership took a strong policy decision. And after that too, we have given an appropriate response to other cowardly attacks. It was such a powerful response that some days back, finally they called us that please stop this we are pleading with you.”

He further added that in response Indian armed forces told Pakistan that they have no problem in stopping but they need to stop too and only then there would be no firing on the border.

Parrikar comments in Panaji comes just a week after three Indian soldiers were killed at LoC with the attackers even beheading one of the soldiers.

Further, Pakistan, in the past has alleged that it is the Indian forces who have killed several of their civilians along with few of their soldiers at the border and that too in unprovoked attacks.
