No Naxal Attack On Jharkhand’s Police Stations This Year

In 2015, there has been not a single Naxal attack on any police station in Jharkhand, according to the police booklet.

The booklet which was released recently said that this was for the first time since 2011 that there have been no attacks.

In 2011, Maoists attacked police stations/outposts/pickets six times; in 2012, they attacked eight times; and in 2014, four times.



The booklet also mentioned that the left-wing extremists could not hold ‘people’s court’ in both 2014 and 2015.

In 2011, they held it 31 times, 20 times in 2012, and 10 times in 2013.



Jharkhand witnessed a total of 186 Naxal-related incidents this year. In comparison, there were 504 incidents in 2011, 404 in 2012, 349 in 2013, and 231 in 2014.

The state’s 20 districts have been affected with left-wing extremism.

There was a sharp decline in the number of the incidents, the booklet said.



In 2015, till November, there were 45 encounters as against 59 in 2014, 68 in 2013, 51 in 2012 and 63 in 2011, the booklet mentioned.
