Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (JVM) chief Babu Lal Marandi has said that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is the most suitable person to take on Narender Modi-led BJP as the prime ministerial candidate for 2019 Lok Sabha polls.
Marandi was in Patna to meet Bihar CM Nitish Kumar so as to discuss issues related to development of border areas in Jharkhand that are close to Bihar.
Elaborating on his point, Marandi said, “All regional and secular-democratic parties have to unite across the country to ensure defeat of the BJP.”
Marandi’s statement comes a day after JD(U) general secretary K.C. Tyagi said that Nitish wants to be PM and is only working to “unite like-minded parties” to defeat BJP.
Though he also said
that the party has never even “projected” Nitish Kumar as a prime ministerial candidate. Marandi’s statements also confirm JD(U)’s earlier claim that he is likely to join hands with Bihar CM Nitish Kumar in Jharkhand.
