National Fisheries Development Board Building Looks Like It Swims Through Hyderabad At Night

This offbeat building of the National Fisheries Development Board (NFDB) in Hyderabad was reportedly inspired by the 1992 sculpture ‘Fish’ by Frank Gehry in Barcelona. The four storey building was officially opened in April 2012 and serves as the regional office of the NFDB.

The building has a rather bulky appearance. Fish parts have been used to add usefulness to it, like the left pectoral fin working as an awning above the staircase.

At night, the building is lit by bluish-purple spotlights which give the building the look of swimming through Hyderabad.
