Call it the twist of fate for those with black money or the usual human nature of not paying attention but the possibility that the government might scrap the Rs.500 and Rs.1000 notes was first reported by leading Hindi daily Dainik Jagran.

In a report published on October 27, eleven days before Prime Minister Narendra Modi made that shocking (for some) announcement, the newspaper had said that the government might scrap the notes of Rs.500 and Rs.1000 denominations.

But in the age when everyone is busy posting their latest status updates on Facebook, who has the time to carefully read every news in a paper? And there are many who subscribe to newspapers just to show that they are newspaper readers.

We wonder how those who are burning their money in sacks or banging their heads on the desk thinking of ways to whitewash that that ill-gotten wealth be feeling now.

From this day forth, everyone will read EVERY single line in a newspaper.
